Lets Go Away
Hello there, this blog is going to be about Traveling. I am going to list a location once a week and further evaluate in the next post after on scenic locations I have heard about or maybe something you might have suggested. I only ever went any where very few times. Once was to Orlando, Florida. When I was 6 I believe. I went there with my younger brother, Mom and Dad to some hotel. I don't exactly remember since I was younger but I remember having access to a really nice pool and we went to Universal Studios which was really cool! Another time I went to New York when I was about 10 with my Dad and younger brother But I have no idea where in New York (Damn..) We visited my Uncle and Aunt who was from Columbia and we visited there and it was pretty cool. The last trip I made was to Manhattan, New York with my friends on the summer that just passed. We went there because now that we are all working and have money, we wanted to get out and see the world. I chose New York first because we (AMC theatres) had the largest IMAX screen in Manhattan, NY and I wanted to get away and enjoy myself so I gave us (me and my friends) an Objective for when we at least got there since I'm not familiar with the attractions or activities we could do. Not only that but i was able to get us in for FREE. We saw transformers 3 in IMAX and it was amazing! If your about the experience in movie watching then I suggest making an effort to seeing a movie in IMAX but if for whatever reason you head to Manhattan NY, the theater is AMC Lincoln Square 13. Check it out. Back on the subject now, other than that we rode bikes around central park which was fun and great exercise! (Approximately 6 miles long by the way). After that we went to Times Square and it was pretty amazing to look at considering I live in a small town by Camden with nothing lively to see. After having that trip, we all wouldn't mind continuing to travel some more because it was an amazing experience to go outside of the state on our own and do something. Hopefully I can find plenty more, see the world and have experiences like that again. If you ever have been to any places I post up that I have stumbled upon interest in feel free to tell me about your experience too or if you have been somewhere I have never considered feel free to post input for I am open to anything. This world is full of places and I want to be there!

I've traveled a bit and even lived for 14 years in Belize, Central America. We lived in San Ignacio, a small town 11 miles from the Guatemala border. It is a fantastic place and my blog kind of has a lot to do with this too. It's called Culture Quest. My daughter was born and raised for 10 years in Belize and it was really weird when we came to Orlando, Florida, to visit my dad. My daughter had never seen doors that opened automatically, so when we got near a grocery store door and it opened she was in shock. My brother wanted to take my daughter to Disney World but I said no because she was having so much trouble comprehending reality in the State that so much fantasy mixed in with the new reality might have been very confusing for her. There is so very much to learn from other places and cultures!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more! there is so much to learn especially for me and I would love to expose myself to a wide variety of cultures and different lifestyles. I'm glad you introduced me to a new location I could check because I would love to check an area like belize out! I researched a little online about the area and I see some beautiful tropical area and from the looks of a couple photos, If I ever take a trip there I'd feel like I would be taking a step back in time where technology is not littered in every crevice! But honestly I would like to take a trip there and enjoy a time in life where I can swim and maybe try kayaking or explore the rain forests. I feel like I grew up eating technology and I'm adequately computer and tech savy even though I am not choosing to seek that abilities. I just grew up on it that it comes easier to me but I would like to enjoy the real things in life, the natural one. There's so many people that surfed, skydived, jet ski, mountain biked snowboard and all that other cool stuff yet I think I only ever been on a boat once in my ever so exciting life and I have never done anything else really but soon enough I plan to change that.
ReplyDeleteI looked up a few activities I could participate in and areas I could go to like The Hol Chan marine reserve in San Pedro. I can also go to Shark Ray Alley in Ambergris Caye which a lot of other tourists said had crystal clear waters and are perfect for snorkeling and such. Then there's also The Great Blue Hole at Lighthouse Reef which is great for diving and it's a wonder how it was a above ground cave but the water level rose over time and caused the roof to collapse thus forming an almost complete circular pool! This place sounds amazing, I hope to one day venture to this area and see all of this with my own eyes!
ReplyDeleteAnother locations I would like to travel to is Miami Florida, I would like to check out the nice weather I was once introduced to several years ago as an adult this time..and in Miami! My mother moved down there a while ago so not only would I get to vacation another area but I could visit too. South Beach Anyone?
ReplyDeleteAlong with South beach I could also see the Miami Zoo. Since the climate is much better they have a wider variety of animals then we do over here in NJ so it would be cool to see some African Cats! I could also visit the seaquarium they have too because I'm trying to think and I am not too sure if I even seen a Dolphin yet..If I did then it was a long enough time ago to question if I did. I could also check out the Everglades which is also known as a "River of Grass". That should be interesting to see! I would also be interested to see the Museum of science and see the planetarium. Last thing I would like to check out is the Monkey Jungle "Where the Humans are caged and the monkeys run wild!"
ReplyDeleteHey Freddy G,
ReplyDeleteI am so with you. I have just recently decided to start traveling. Last year my mother and I decided to make it a yearly thing to visit an exotic location once a year. Last year we visited Jamaica, this year we went to the Bahamas. Next year we plan to go to Puerto Rico. Hopefully we will continue to travel and experience different cultures.
I think that's great that you and your mom decided to do that! I literally woke up one day and I was thinking to myself "There's more to life than what I'm exposing myself to." I needed to get away somewhere and I brought it up to my friends and they are just as into it as I am and sometimes they bring it up out of nowhere when they think of a cool place too as if they started the idea! It's fine with me because I like the energy of all of us into the idea
ReplyDeleteThe City of angels anyone? There's plenty of cool things I can check out in LA especially Hollywood! I would like to take a walk down the Hollywood walk of fame and see all of the stars who have been placed within its paving! They also have a power walk to Conserve energy Tour! Who does that?! I think it's funny but I would do that anyway considering that's how my day would go for the most part. At least it's good exercise. Hopefully I'll see someone famous too
ReplyDeleteI actually ran across a list of a few celebrities that Live in LA. Like billy ray Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Ashley tisdale, demi lovato, Selena Gomez, Jonas brothers, vanessa hudgens, zac efron, eminem, Angelina jolie, ciara, Paris Hilton, lady gaga, usher, kendra, the kardashians, ice t, snoop dog, Britney spears, Lindsay lohan, Hilary duff, Bret michaels, Jennifer aniston, halle berry, beyonce, jay-z, Rhianna, chris brown, souja boy, Angela, vanessa, lil mama, tyrese, Janet Jackson,Taylor swift, corbin bleu, latoya Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Katherine Jackson, Paris Jackson, Carrie Underwood, kanye west, p. diddy! ReplyDeleteThis is BRAZIL!! (Vin Diesel voice)I would like to take a trip to Rio De Janeiro. As A projectionist I have seen about 3 movies within the past few months that take place in Rio. Fast Five, Rio (The Movie with the blue bird on the cover) and something else I can't quite remember right now. One ting I would like to do immediately is visit the Cristo! And I am going to do it by climbing the hundreds of steps to do it. I feel as though I have to do it that way (There are escalators and elavators too for the lazies out there lol)it would be nice to go to a place that I have a general picture of through all these movies I can't escape thanks to my occupation. Although I probably won't explore the Favelas..
ReplyDeleteObviously If I go there I should go around the same time as the Carnaval Celebration! I could visit the Copacabana beach and the Ipanema. There is also the sugar loaf mountain, I wonder what that's all about lol. Additionally, I might be able to watch a FIFA game when I visit there! Sounds a little pricey but If I do I will definitely make it an experience I shall never forget
